October 4, 2000 - XAL 4.0.3 Released! / Site redesigned |
Wow it has been 3 months already. Where did the summer go? I don't know. Anyway, I've started back working on XAL. This release only contains a bit of code clean ups so that XAL will compile on QNX/RTP. I have verified the functioning of the CM17 device on QNX/RTP, but don't have any other devices to test the rest of the supported hardware. If anyone has tried them out, please let me know! -- On a side note, QNX/RTP is great. I plan to build a control center for my X10 devices on a device running QNX/RTP. I'll post how thats going as soon as I get the hardware.

July 4, 2000 - XAL 4.0.2 released! |
Added Les Smithson's TWSER module and (hopefully) increased the portability of XAL. Please check the platforms page to see what OSes XAL will run on. If you get XAL to run on any platforms that are not listed or unverified, please email me and let me know what you did to make it work.

June 27, 2000 - XAL 4.0.1a released! |
I just switched over to an autoconf compilation system. No new code in this release, so if you have 4.0.1 you really don't need to get 4.0.1a unless you have some kind of sick fetish for compiling stuff.

June 25, 2000 - XAL 4.0.1 released! |
This is a minor release. The most notable addition is an error system having x10_errno and x10_strerror (). I also added the ability for the CM17 probe to also check for a /dev/firecracker because some people I know have that instead of /dev/cm17. See the changelog for further information.

June 20, 2000 - XAL now has a new maintainer and a new home! |
Hey folks, my name is Scott and I am the new maintainer of the XAL package. The creator of the package, Sebastian Kuzminsky, was gracious enough to allow me to assume the position. I hope to pick up where Sebastian left of and bring XAL into more active devlopment. The areas of immediate interest to me are my Python module, pyX10, and documentation. I will leave the current release at Sebastian's last release, version 4, which incorporates my bug fix. Watch here for the new documentation as well as a Linux/X10 users guide and/or tutorial.
